Full-time | Evening shifts | Includes weekends and holidays About the Role The Westin Westminster is seeking experienced and dependable Line Cooks to join our culinary team. Our hotel features a high-volume restaurant (Spotted Donkey) and a busy banquet operation serving meetings, weddings, and large events throughout the year. The ideal candidate will have experience with both à la carte dinner service and large-scale banquet preparation, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation. Responsibilities- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items for service in the restaurant
- Support banquet kitchen operations for events and large group functions
- Follow standardized recipes and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency
- Set up, stock, and break down assigned stations before and after service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and storage areas
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Assist with prep work for the next shift's service and special events
- Communicate effectively with fellow cooks, servers, and banquet teams to ensure smooth service flow
- Support culinary leadership with training and mentoring of new kitchen team members Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of cooking experience in a full-service restaurant or hotel kitchen
- Experience in both à la carte service and banquet/batch cooking required
- Strong knife skills and understanding of cooking techniques, temperatures, and portion control
- Ability to follow recipes and work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification preferred Benefits
