Full-Time | Closed Sundays | Midday Break 2-4 PM Carreras Tacos is hiring an experienced Line Cook to join our kitchen at our flagship taquería. We're a fast-growing, chef-driven concept with food trucks, catering, and plans to expand — and we need someone who can step onto the line and move with the speed, consistency, and pride out kitchen is known for. We're looking for someone who already knowns how to run a station under pressure and doesn't need to be taught the basics. What You'll Be Responsible For Line Execution Work an assigned station (grill, sauté, prep, etc.) and execute menu items to spec, every time Keep pace during rushes without sacrificing quality or consistency Communicate clearly with other cooks and expo during service Prep & Setup Complete daily prep lists accurately and on time Set up and stock your station with everything needed before service Break down and clean your station properly at close Kitchen Standards Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation throughout the shift Flag inventory issues, shortages, or equipment problems to management Requirements 2+ years experience as a line cook in a fast-paced kitchen — required Experience cooking Mexican cuisine strongly preferred — familiarity with traditional techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles Strong knife skills and prep speed Comfortable working multiple stations and adapting under pressure Reliable, punctual, and able to work nights/weekends as needed Team player who takes direction well and shows up with a good attitude What We Offer Competitive hourly pay + tips Closed Sundays Tight-knit ownership team that supports you Opportunities for growth as we expand — trucks, catering, and the VW bus mean more hours and more paths to grow A brand with loyal customers, killer tacos, and a strong culture Keep pace during rushes without sacrificing quality or consistency Communicate clearly with other cooks and expo during service
