Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Cook, you will prepare food for patients, staff, and visitors of the healthcare facility by utilizing safe cooking techniques. You will ensure that all meals are prepared for multiple therapeutic diets while strictly complying with state and federal healthcare regulations. Every day, you will follow standardized recipes and established procedures to maintain consistency in food quality. You will play a vital role in supporting quality control measures to ensure that every meal served meets the high standards of the facility. To be successful in your role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to food safety and regulatory compliance. Your attention to detail and ability to execute complex dietary requirements will be essential to providing excellent nutrition services. Prepares and serves food in accordance with menu guidelines and dietary requirements, using necessary kitchen utensils and equipment, such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stovetops, and grills. Adjusts food preparation as needed to accommodate specific allergies. Follows healthcare foodservice industry standards, regulations, and procedures, including monitoring and maintaining proper food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage. Prevents cross-contamination and adheres to all personal hygiene requirements. Maintains proper labeling and storage protocols for all food products, equipment, and machinery. Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties to ensure that all cooking and serving areas remain hygienic and safe. Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
