Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Laminator and Slitter Machine Operator to join our flexible packaging manufacturing team at Vert Manufacturing in Longmont. You will operate laminating and slitting equipment to bond film layers and cut materials to precise specifications, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment. This role is ideal for candidates with manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities Operate laminating equipment:
load film roll stock, verify tension and web tracking, monitor adhesive/heat application, and adjust parameters for proper layer bonding Operate slitting equipment: position film, set blade pressure and registration, control cut width and slit quality, and manage slit roll handling Perform efficient job changeovers and roll changes while minimizing scrap Load, thread, and verify web path, registration, and directional orientation Continuously monitor film lamination and cut quality; make real-time machine adjustments Perform preventive maintenance and daily equipment checks Complete production reports, quality logs, downtime records, and scrap documentation Collaborate with manufacturing team, quality, and maintenance staff Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to safety protocols Quality & Cosmetic Standards (Non-Negotiable) Consistent, complete lamination with no voids, delamination, bubbles, or wrinkles Uniform adhesive application with no excess or pooling Precise, straight cuts with no feathering, wandering, or blade chatter Accurate slit width and edge squareness within specification No contamination, film damage, or splice marks in finished product Proper roll winding tension and alignment Qualifications Proven experience operating manufacturing equipment such as laminating machines, slitting equipment, roll-to-roll converting machinery, or similar equipment Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, rulers, gauges) Solid understanding of quality control procedures and manufacturing standards Basic math skills for measurements and calculations Ability to read job specifications and work instructions Familiarity with film properties and converting terminology (film gauge, lamination, web tension, registration) is a plus Material handling and forklift experience preferred Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Job Type Full-Time Benefits 401(k) with matching Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Parental leave On-the-job training Work Location In Person -
