$21.50 to $23.50+ per hour The Passenger is a globally inspired restaurant in downtown Longmont offering an eclectic menu with flavors and dishes from around the world. We are looking for a dependable, growth-oriented line cook to join our collaborative kitchen team. We are not necessarily looking for someone with years of experience. We value reliability, coachability, communication and the desire to improve. Some professional kitchen experience is preferred, but we will provide hands-on training to the right person who already understands basic kitchen operations and can become productive quickly. This is an excellent opportunity for a developing cook who wants to master multiple stations, strengthen their culinary skills and potentially cross-train in prep, catering and special-event production. Responsibilities Set up and maintain an organized, properly stocked station Prepare and execute dishes according to recipes, portioning and presentation standards Maintain consistency, quality and appropriate ticket times during service Complete assigned prep, labeling, dating and product rotation Communicate clearly with the kitchen team during service Follow allergy, dietary and food-safety procedures carefully Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation Assist with opening, closing and general kitchen responsibilities Learn additional stations and responsibilities as skills develop What We Are Looking For Some professional kitchen experience preferred; approximately six months or more is ideal Basic knife, preparation and food-safety skills Dependable, punctual and ready to work Calm, organized and responsive during busy service Able to follow recipes and accept coaching and feedback Interested in learning new cuisines, techniques and responsibilities Able to understand and communicate essential work information in English, including tickets, recipes, allergen alerts, safety instructions and kitchen call-outs Availability to work evenings and weekends Compensation and Growth Base pay of $19 to $21 per hour, depending on demonstrated experience and station readiness Kitchen employees currently earn an additional $2.50 or more per hour from tips and the kitchen appreciation fee Estimated total compensation of $21.50 to $23.50+ per hour; additional compensation varies based on sales and shifts Paid sick leave in accordance with Colorado law Hands-on training and opportunities to learn additional stations Compensation review after 60 days based on attendance, reliability, station proficiency, speed, cleanliness and consistency Potential to grow into additional culinary, catering and special-event responsibilities Full-time availability is preferred, although strong part-time candidates may be considered.
