Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to excellence in meal preparation. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, providing high-quality dishes that meet our standards of fine dining. The Line Cook/Prep Cook will work closely with other kitchen staff to maintain a clean, organized, and safe cooking environment. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation. Assist in menu planning, contributing creative ideas for seasonal dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage and handling practices. Follow food safety guidelines and regulations to ensure the health and safety of all guests. Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely meal service during peak hours. Participate in catering events as needed, assisting with meal preparation and serving. Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs when required. Experience Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in fine dining or high-volume food service settings. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and cooking methods is essential. Previous experience as a dietary aide or within a dietary department is a plus. Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations is required. Experience in menu planning and catering services is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team are crucial for success in this role.
