Job Description

Cattlemen's Bar & Grill is looking for a dependable, experienced Night Lead Cook to help lead our kitchen during evening service. This is a hands-on position for someone who can cook confidently, keep the kitchen organized, and take charge when needed. The Night Lead Cook will work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team to make sure food goes out consistently, accurately, and on time while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Responsibilities Lead the kitchen during evening and closing shifts Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portions, and quality standards Work all stations as needed, including grill, fryer, sauté, prep, and pizza Keep up with tickets and maintain a steady pace during busy service Ensure food is cooked properly and presented consistently Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and other kitchen staff Help direct and support other cooks and kitchen employees during the shift Monitor food levels and communicate prep or product needs Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures Assist with nightly cleaning and closing duties Help ensure the kitchen is properly stocked and ready for the following shift Address routine kitchen issues during service and communicate larger concerns to management Lead by example with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional behavior Qualifications Previous restaurant cooking experience required Previous lead cook or kitchen leadership experience preferred Strong knowledge of grill, fryer, sauté, and general line cooking Ability to work efficiently and remain calm during busy service Ability to follow recipes, portions, and ticket instructions Reliable and punctual Strong communication and teamwork skills Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Must be comfortable standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment What We're Looking For We want someone who takes pride in their food and their kitchen , shows up ready to work, and can be trusted to take ownership of the evening shift. The right person doesn't need someone standing over them—they know what needs to be done and help make sure the kitchen gets it done. This is a great opportunity for an experienced cook who is ready to take on more responsibility without stepping into a full kitchen-manager position.
