Description:
Full-time, non-union position $19 per hour; 40 hours per 8am to 5pm Provide daily evening meal for the residents of the shelter. Insures all food products are prepared, served, and stored (seal in sanitary containers).Develop and maintain nutritionally balanced food menus. Maintain inventory of all food product and supplies. Submits request for food and supplies. Maintains an inventory and maintenance schedule for all food service equipment. Provides service and training to enroll students of Work Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for ordering and keeping inventory of all food supplies. Responsible for ordering and keeping inventory of all kitchen supplies. Responsible for dealing with vendors for ordering. Responsible for keeping sanitary conditions in kitchen and storage area's (State Health Dept. codes & standards).Responsible for keeping and maintaining Health Dept. (food service) License current.
Requirements:
H. S. or GED, Culinary training/certification, 2-5 years in cooking/culinary work, 1-2 years in food service management, Food handling (sanitary), Serving (technique & professionalism), Servsafe Food Protection Manager Certification (per Health Department Standards), Valid State of CT driver's license.
