Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and food processors Follow food safety protocols and handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations Assist in meal preparation and plating for service periods, ensuring timely delivery of orders Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances through regular cleaning routines Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and address any issues promptly Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques Experience Prior food service experience in a restaurant or catering environment is highly preferred Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation and cooking techniques Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus Skilled in knife handling, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence to ensure consistent quality Familiarity with food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
