Position Overview We're seeking an experienced Lead Line Cook to assist our Kitchen Manager with day-to-day operations and help lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate is reliable, and takes pride in maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and high standards of execution. You'll play a key role in ensuring that every dish leaving the kitchen reflects the quality The Salty Dog Tavern is known for. Responsibilities Support the KM in daily kitchen operations and leadership Oversee food prep, cooking, and plating to meet quality and presentation standards Maintain proper food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance Train and mentor line cooks as needed Monitor inventory levels, communicate shortages, and assist with ordering Ensure consistency across menu items and adherence to recipes Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment Step into leadership role during KM's absence Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen required Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to stay calm and organized during busy service hours Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Dependable, professional, and able to work nights and weekends Passion for great food and hospitality Sundays are a MUST Why Work With Us Competitive hourly pay based on experience Fun, fast-paced environment with a supportive team Employee discounts on food and beverages If you take pride in your craft and want to grow with a respected local brand, we'd love to meet you.
