Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas and ensuring adherence to dietary guidelines and nutritional standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling, sanitation practices, and equipment cleaning. Collaborate closely with dietary aides and other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and delivery schedules. Monitor food safety standards throughout the cooking process, ensuring compliance with food handling regulations and safety protocols. Support catering events or special meal services as needed, demonstrating flexibility and excellent food service skills. Qualifications Proven experience in a food industry role such as restaurant cooking or dietary department work. Strong culinary skills including knife techniques, slicing methods, and recipe adherence. Experience with food preparation, meal planning, and operating various kitchen equipment safely. Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation standards in a professional kitchen setting. Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and other team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Prior experience in catering or dietary aide roles is highly desirable.
