• Spotted Horse Tavern Spotted Horse Tavern is looking for experienced Line Cooks and Sous Chefs to join our busy kitchen team in Westport, CT.

We are looking for dependable, hardworking people who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment . Applicants should have previous kitchen experience, work well as part of a team, and be able to maintain quality and consistency during busy services.

What We're Looking For:

Previous line cook or professional kitchen experience Sous Chef candidates should have prior leadership/supervisory experience Strong cooking and food-preparation skills Ability to work efficiently during high-volume service Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines Comfortable working multiple stations as needed Strong communication and organizational skills

Availability Requirement:

Sundays and Mondays are mandatory. Applicants must be available to work both days. Additional weekday/weekend availability is preferred.

Responsibilities Include:

Preparing and cooking menu items to restaurant standards Setting up and maintaining a clean, organized station Following recipes and proper portioning Maintaining food quality and consistency Properly storing, labeling, and rotating food Keeping the kitchen clean and following sanitation procedures Working closely with chefs and other kitchen staff during service Assisting with prep, closing duties, and general kitchen responsibilities Sous Chef applicants will also assist with supervising the kitchen team, maintaining food quality, organization, prep levels, and smooth execution of service.

Experience:

Restaurant cooking: 1+ year preferred
