Job Description

Artichoke and Company is looking for a dependable, hardworking Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This position is responsible for preparing ingredients and food items for catering events, daily production, and other kitchen operations. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, able to follow recipes and instructions, and comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients including washing, chopping, slicing, portioning, and measuring Prepare sauces, dressings, sides, proteins, vegetables, and other menu items according to recipes Assist chefs and kitchen staff with daily food production Portion and package food for catering events and other orders Label, date, rotate, and properly store food Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures Maintain a clean and organized prep station Clean kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and prep areas throughout the shift Assist with receiving and putting away food deliveries Monitor inventory and notify management when products are running low Follow company recipes, portion standards, and quality expectations Assist with additional kitchen duties as needed Qualifications Previous prep cook, restaurant, catering, or commercial kitchen experience preferred Basic knife skills and food preparation knowledge Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately Strong attention to detail and organization Dependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Must maintain a clean and professional appearance Food handler certification preferred but not required What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is reliable, productive, organized, and takes pride in their work.
