Duties Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, slicers, and food processors. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances in compliance with food safety standards. Support the food preparation process by slicing, dicing, portioning, and organizing ingredients for service. Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene throughout all stages of meal production. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service. Requirements Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Demonstrated knowledge of food safety management, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices. Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques; experience with recipe adherence is a plus. Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Ability to work quickly in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members in a fast-paced setting. Experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable; catering experience is a bonus.
