We are seeking a dependable, energetic, and passionate Cook who takes pride in preparing quality meals and creating a positive dining experience for seniors. Position Summary The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals in accordance with approved menus, dietary guidelines, and food safety standards. This position works closely with the Culinary Services team to ensure residents receive high-quality meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menus, and portion guidelines. Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served in an attractive and appetizing manner. Follow all state and local health department regulations and food safety standards. Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and inventory rotation procedures. Assist with meal service and special events as needed. Inspect food quality and freshness before preparation and service. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and kitchen facilities. Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs to management. Follow dietary modifications and special dietary requirements as directed. Work collaboratively with team members to provide exceptional service to residents. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, restaurants, or food service preferred. Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food handling practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time-management skills. ServSafe Certification preferred or ability to obtain after hire. Must be reliable, professional, and customer-service focused. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform kitchen duties throughout the shift. Ability to work safely around kitchen equipment, ovens, and hot surfaces.
