Job Description

Shells Seafood Restaurant in Brandon is hiring a reliable and hardworking prep cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate is organized, pays attention to detail, follows recipes carefully, and takes pride in preparing fresh, consistent food.
Responsibilities:
Prepare ingredients according to restaurant recipes and specifications Wash, cut, portion, label, and store food properly Prepare sauces, dressings, vegetables, seafood, and other menu ingredients Follow portion-control and presentation standards Maintain accurate date labels and product rotation using FIFO procedures Keep prep stations, equipment, coolers, and storage areas clean and organized Follow food-safety, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries Restock the line and support the kitchen team as needed Help reduce waste by following approved recipes and preparation quantities
Qualifications:
Previous restaurant prep or kitchen experience is preferred Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team Able to stand for extended periods Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Available to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled Knowledge of food-safety practices is preferred
