This engaging role is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate culinary professional looking to contribute to our esteemed hotel's dining services. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in creating and executing menu items that meet the high standards of taste, quality, and presentation that our guests expect. Please note, this position is based on-site at our Oceanfront location and is not a remote job opportunity. As a valued member of our culinary team, the Cook will work within a dynamic kitchen environment that demands a high level of skill, speed, and adaptability. Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to the hotel's recipes, standards, and presentation requirements. Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Ensure that all food supplies needed for the day are fully stocked and prepared. Adhere to all health and safety regulations when handling food and kitchen equipment. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, and disposing of trash regularly. Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met. Monitor food portioning, layout, and presentation to maintain high standards and uniformity. Assist in the planning of menus, including suggesting new, creative recipes and determining appropriate prices. Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and a collaborative working environment. Adjust dishes based on consumer suggestions or preferences, showcasing flexibility and innovation in culinary skills. Manage food inventory, anticipate needs, and communicate with suppliers and management to maintain stock levels and quality. Document and maintain clear records of ingredients, expenditures, and practices for compliance and budget management. Requirements Proven experience as a cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to work all shifts. Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Familiarity with industry's best practices and culinary techniques. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and maintain a positive team spirit. Dependability and flexibility to handle varying workload levels on a day-to-day basis. Capability to withstand long hours standing and moving in a busy environment. Compliance with all local health regulations, including possession of any necessary certifications or licenses such as a food handler's card. Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workspace at all times. Team player mentality with an eagerness to learn and grow within the culinary field.
