Duties Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and food processors Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas in compliance with food safety regulations Assist in meal preparation for daily service, catering events, or special functions Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene at all times Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and ensure timely service Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients as needed and suggesting improvements for efficiency Requirements Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required Strong food preparation skills with knowledge of cooking techniques and recipe adherence Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively Experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating excellent food handling practices Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food safety management systems Ability to perform slicing techniques with precision using proper knife skills Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen team members Basic understanding of meal planning, catering processes, and culinary principles Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety throughout all tasks
