Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, assisting with meal assembly, and supporting the kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient food service operations. Your enthusiasm for food preparation, commitment to safety standards, and ability to work collaboratively will contribute to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the food industry. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients according to recipes, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning foods using proper knife skills and slicing techniques Assist in assembling and plating dishes following established menu standards and presentation guidelines Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, slicers, and other culinary tools Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment by adhering to strict cleaning schedules and food safety protocols Support meal preparation for various service settings such as cafeterias or catering events while ensuring food safety management practices are followed Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep activities and ensure timely delivery of meals Follow recipe adherence closely to maintain consistency and quality across all dishes prepared Qualifications Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable Strong food handling knowledge combined with experience in food preparation and cooking techniques Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food safety management practices Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering is a plus Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members Demonstrated knife skills, slicing techniques, and understanding of food industry best practices Ability to follow detailed recipes accurately while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene Join our team as a Prep Cook where your culinary passion meets a vibrant work environment!
