Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Job Description Job Description Riverpark Terrace is seeking a dependable and experienced Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in food quality and presentation, and communicates effectively with the rest of the staff. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards.
- Set up and stock the assigned station before each shift.
- Prepare ingredients, including chopping, portioning, seasoning and basic food preparation.
- Complete orders accurately and efficiently during busy service periods.
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion size and presentation.
- Communicate with chefs, cooks, servers and other team members.
- Follow proper food-safety, sanitation and temperature-control procedures.
- Label, date, rotate and properly store food using FIFO procedures.
- Keep the station, equipment and surrounding work areas clean and organized.
- Assist with inventory, receiving deliveries and restocking supplies.
- Complete opening, closing and cleaning duties as assigned.
- Report equipment problems, shortages and food-quality concerns promptly.
- Perform other kitchen duties as needed. Qualifications
- Previous line-cook or professional kitchen experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions and portion standards.
- Ability to remain organized and focused during high-volume service.
- Dependable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Food-handler certification preferred or willingness to obtain one. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work around heat, steam, sharp utensils and commercial kitchen equipment.
- Ability to bend, reach and move safely in a busy kitchen.
