Sauté Chef / Sauté Station Line Cook Avila Golf & Country Club | Tampa, FL Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities | $19.50-$22.00/Hour Bring Your Culinary Skills to an Upscale Private Club Are you an experienced line cook who takes pride in scratch cooking, strong sauté skills, and consistently great food? Avila Golf & Country Club is looking for a Sauté Chef / Sauté Station Line Cook to join our culinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a cook who enjoys a professional, fast-paced kitchen and wants to prepare high-quality, made-to-order cuisine for a private club membership, guests, special events, tournaments, and banquets. You'll work alongside an experienced culinary leadership team in an environment where quality, teamwork, consistency, and hospitality matter. What You'll Do As a Sauté Chef, you'll be responsible for executing dishes accurately and efficiently throughout service, including: Prepare and cook proteins, pasta, vegetables, and specialty menu items on the sauté station Use professional techniques including sautéing, pan-searing, deglazing, poaching, and braising Prepare scratch-made sauces, reductions, emulsions, and gravies Complete daily mise en place and station preparation Perform knife work, portion ingredients, prepare garnishes, and organize your station for service Follow recipes and plating standards to ensure consistency and presentation Maintain proper cooking temperatures, food quality, portion control, and presentation Communicate effectively with the culinary team during high-volume service Assist with banquet preparation, private events, tournaments, and special club functions Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation Follow all food safety, sanitation, labeling, and ingredient rotation procedures What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a dependable culinary professional who can confidently manage a sauté station and maintain quality during busy service.
Qualifications:
1-2+ years of professional hot-line or restaurant kitchen experience Previous sauté station experience strongly preferred Strong knife skills and knowledge of professional cooking techniques Understanding of sauces, reductions, emulsions, and other culinary fundamentals Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and plating standards Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills Ability to work independently while supporting the overall kitchen team Food Handler or ServSafe certification preferred What We Offer $19.50-$22.00 per hour , based on culinary experience Part-time and full-time opportunities Upscale private club environment Opportunity to prepare elevated cuisine for members and guests Exposure to fine dining, casual dining, banquets, tournaments, and special events Experienced culinary leadership Professional, organized kitchen environment Opportunity to develop and expand your culinary skills Schedule & Availability This position requires flexibility based on club operations and member events. Candidates must be available to work: Evenings Weekends Holidays Special events and club functions Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods, including shifts of up to 10 hours Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced professional kitchen Ability to safely navigate wet or slippery surfaces Ability to lift and carry up to 40-50 pounds as needed Ability to perform repetitive kitchen tasks including chopping, portioning, stirring, cooking, and plating Why Join Avila Golf & Country Club?
