Summary /
Objective:
Ensure consistently high quality product through collaborative planning and preparation. The primary objective is to develop expertise about Italian cuisine and culinary traditions. Cooks must generate additional value to the business through their knowledge, professionalism, and attentiveness.
Reports to:
Sous Chef(s),
Executive Chef, General Manager Essential Functions:
  • Prepare ALL Prep areas, including but not limited to, grill station, sauté station, pantry station, dish station, expo station, walk in cooler, and dry storage for service by following
KITCHEN SIDE WORK CHECKLIST
& management instruction. Includes, but is not limited to, keeping common areas clean and organized and restocking inventory and supplies.
  • Prepare high volumes of customer orders, especially for appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, and desserts. All orders must be prepared to consistent standards of approved recipes and plate presentation.
  • Attend to customer needs by correctly preparing orders, providing timely service of orders, entertaining questions from servers, accommodating specific allergies and diets, and relaying any complaints or compliments to management.
  • Keep common areas and workstations organized by employing a "CLEAN as YOU GO" mentality. Reset the KITCHEN area for immediate and future service.
  • Assist in proper storage and rotation of all product and inventory, especially perishables, so that regulations and best practices for food safety are always adhered to.
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are well maintained through regular inspection and reporting of any issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Be prepared to follow management instruction to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Required Industry Certification:
Food Handler's Certificate Required Education and Experience:
At least two years' experience cooking or working in a comparable position.
