Overview Join our vibrant gas station kitchen team as a Cook, where your culinary skills will fuel our busy service environment! You'll be an essential part of providing quick, tasty, and satisfying options for travelers and local customers alike. Bring your culinary expertise, enthusiasm, and dedication to safety and quality to create a welcoming atmosphere in our fast-paced kitchen. We are looking to fill our afternoon shift 2:30pm to 11:30pm . This job has 5% commission of all sales. Duties Prepare a variety of menu items with precision. Follow established recipes and food safety standards to ensure consistent quality and sanitation. Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and food prep tools efficiently and safely. Assist with menu planning to optimize meal options and manage ingredient inventory effectively. Maintain cleanliness by adhering to sanitizing procedures and ensuring the kitchen meets all health regulations. Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques to prevent contamination. Support catering or special meal preparation requests as needed during peak hours or special events. Experience Previous experience in a food service environment, preferably within a restaurant or high-volume kitchen setting. Knowledge of food safety management, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling practices. Skilled in various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation. Familiarity with operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Experience in menu planning, recipe adherence, and food production processes. Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation tasks. Background in dietary department work or dietary aide experience is advantageous but not required; a passion for culinary excellence is essential.
