Job Description

Thicc Burger is an old fashioned burger joint, started in Los Angeles California in 2020. Behind every great guest experience is a kitchen that runs like clockwork
  • we're looking for a Lead Cook who can set that pace and bring the rest of the line with them.
THE ROLE
The Lead Cook runs the back of house during their shift
  • setting the pace on the line, keeping food quality and ticket times on point, and training up the rest of the kitchen team.
You'll work every station, catch problems before they hit a guest's plate, and make sure the kitchen is ready for whatever the rush throws at it. This is a strong next step for a cook who's ready to lead, with a real path toward Kitchen Manager or Assistant General Manager down the road.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead the kitchen line during assigned shifts, setting pace and priorities
  • Ensure every plate meets Thicc Burger's standards for quality, portioning, and speed
  • Train, coach, and hold cooks accountable to recipes and prep procedures
  • Run prep lists and monitor par levels; flag inventory and ordering needs
  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and proper equipment handling on the line
  • Work any station
  • grill, fry, assembly
  • and jump in wherever needed
  • Communicate ticket times and 86'd items clearly with front-of-house and management
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen throughout the shift
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • 2+ years of cook experience in a restaurant kitchen, ideally high-volume
  • Experience training or leading other cooks preferred, not required
  • Solid knife skills and the ability to work multiple stations under pressure
  • Working knowledge of food safety practices; SERV Safe a plus, or willingness to get certified
  • Ability to read and execute recipes and prep lists consistently
  • Clear communication and a level head during high-volume rushes
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs.
