Job Description

Job Overview Behind every great meal is a skilled culinary team working with heart—and we are looking for dedicated individuals to join us! We are seeking a detail-oriented Prep Cook and Line Cook to join our L&L Hawaiian BBQ 'Ohana. In this vital role, you will bring your culinary skills, positive energy, and passion for food to a fast-paced, team-driven kitchen, setting the stage for the authentic island flavors our guests love.
What You'll Do Precision Prep Work:
Efficiently prep, cut, and portion high-quality ingredients (including vegetables, proteins, and signature sauces) with consistency and speed.
Line Support & Cooking:
Assist in preparing hot food components, sauces, stocks, and side dishes to support the main line during peak hours.
Safety & Organization:
Properly label, rotate (FIFO), and store all food items in strict compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Station Ownership:
Keep your prep and cooking stations spotlessly clean, fully sanitized, and well-stocked throughout your shift.
Equipment Mastery:
Safely and efficiently operate standard commercial kitchen equipment (knives, slicers, processors, and mixers).
Inventory & Stocking:
Assist with daily inventory checks, stock monitoring, and receiving deliveries to minimize waste.
Team Collaboration:
Work hand-in-hand with the kitchen crew to ensure seamless food prep and a smooth, efficient line service.
What We're Looking For Kitchen Experience:
Prior professional kitchen experience is highly preferred. Comfort working in a fast-paced back-of-house environment is key.
Technical Culinary Skills:
Strong knife skills, familiarity with kitchen tools, and a solid understanding of prep recipes and execution.
Food Safety & Certification:
Solid knowledge of kitchen sanitation practices; ServSafe Certification is highly preferred (or a valid local food handler's card).
Focus & Pace:
The ability to stay detailed, organized, and focused on quality even during high-volume, fast-paced rush periods.
