The Cottages on Wesleyan We are seeking a Full Time Cook to join our team!
Reports To:
Food Services Director Philosophy:
The Cottages on Wesleyan is dedicated to providing care and services to mature adults in a home-like residential environment. It is a State requirement in the Senior Living Industry that you must be fingerprinted and entered into the State system. The State determines if you are eligible for hire in a Senior Living Community after they complete your background check. Also, you must pass a drug test and general physical exam, which includes TB screening, before you are eligible for hire. The cost of all screening is covered by the Company. If you leave before your 90 day probationary period is over the cost of the screening will be deducted from your final payment. We are committed to continuous staff training and educational programs ensuring our residents' always receive personalized care and attention. Duties include, but are not limited to: To cook 3 nutritious meals and 2 snacks per day for the 50+ assisted living residents To heed special dietary needs of residents — also, to prepare special meals for residents who are ill, such as soup or Jello. To deliver meals to any independent residents requesting meals for the day. To assist the Food Services Director in preparing for parties and other special events that the community may have. To abide by cleaning schedules, unloading food trucks, sanitary rules and regulations for the kitchen and dining room as set by the Food Services Director. To report any resident changes involving eating habits to the Food Services Director. To report any maintenance issues regarding kitchen equipment to the Food Services Director.
Qualifications/ Skills Needed:
The candidate must hold a High School Diploma or GED. Preferred candidates must have experience in food service. Must be able to cook meals from scratch
Schedule:
Ability to work shifts as scheduled: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm or 10:00am to 6:30pm Schedule includes working every other weekend. Previous experience in culinary arts, cooking, or other related fields, worked in commercial kitchen Passion for food and cooking techniques Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment'
