Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team! Our café specializes in Argentinian & European pastries and offers a fresh, simple menu of salads, toasts, and sandwiches. We pride ourselves on creating high-quality food in a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. This role is ideal for anyone seeking a second job or who prefers early morning shifts, leaving the rest of the day free. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for: Preparing salads, toasts, and sandwiches with consistency, accuracy, and care according to established recipes and presentation standards. Ensuring food prep areas are stocked, clean, and well-organized throughout service. Maintaining food displays by preparing fresh ingredients and replenishing items as needed. Assisting with receiving and storing deliveries, rotating stock, and monitoring ingredient freshness. Following food handling and safety guidelines to guarantee the highest quality and hygiene standards. Supporting the café team to ensure smooth, efficient service during busy periods. You will also be expected to: Assist in inventory management by keeping track of ingredients, packaging, and kitchen supplies. Practice excellent time management to deliver orders promptly, especially during peak hours. Collaborate with fellow team members to create a positive, supportive work environment. Uphold café standards for cleanliness, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained. Qualifications Previous experience in food preparation, deli, or café environments is preferred but not required (training will be provided). Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while staying organized. Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds as needed.

From $18.00 per hour
