The role supports the Sous or Executive Chef in maintaining high quality of food and safety standards. Essential Job Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of meals for residents with attention to quality and presentation. Alter or adapt recipes to accommodate special dining needs of residents or to improve recipes. Ensure attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving. Identify food and supplies needed for the next week s menus and report to the supervisor. Participate in new menu and special menu planning. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and kitchen/storage areas. Ensure proper handling, labeling and storage of food for infection control. Prepare meats for storage and portion control upon delivery. Ensure proper storage of all delivered foods and ingredients. Assist with dishwashing and kitchen sanitation, as needed. Notify manager of food supply needs and malfunctioning equipment or appliances. Assist in the recording of Ready- to•Use•food items into the TELS website.
