Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and organized Preschool Cook to prepare and serve daily meals and snacks in compliance with state licensing regulations and USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, a love for children, and strong attention to cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to weekly menus and CACFP requirements Follow portion sizes and nutrition standards for children of varying ages Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment Receive, check, and store food and supply deliveries Keep accurate food temperature logs and daily meal count records Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines Assist with special dietary needs and food allergies Collaborate with center leadership to adjust menus as needed Perform light cleaning tasks related to meal service (washing dishes, sanitizing counters, sweeping, mopping kitchen area)

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required Previous cooking or food service experience preferred, especially in childcare, school, or healthcare settings Knowledge of safe food handling practices and basic nutrition Ability to meet state licensing requirements for background checks and health screenings Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently Friendly and professional demeanor around children, families, and staff

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting meal schedules
