Job Description
Position Summary The Tripoli Community School District is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and service-oriented High School Cook to assist with the preparation, service, and cleanup of nutritious meals for students and staff. The High School Cook will work as part of the school nutrition team and will follow established menus, recipes, food-safety procedures, district policies, and applicable regulations. The successful candidate will demonstrate reliability, teamwork, attention to detail, and a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced school food-service environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous food-service, restaurant, institutional, or school nutrition experience preferred. Food-safety certification or willingness to obtain required training. Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food-safety procedures. Ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, and other food-service personnel. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Performance Responsibilities Assists where assigned in the proper preparation of food on a daily basis. Assists with setting up servic areas and the portioning and serving of food items. Assists in the daily cleaning of the food service areas and/or food utensils. Complies with all safety and health standards as set forth by state and federal regulations. Assists with care, cleaning, and regular maintenance of food service equipment. Attends meetings, in-services, education courses, and School Food Service Short Courses as required. Performs duties in a positive manner promoting positive public relations with employees, students, and general public. Performs other dutires as required by the Food Service Director. Terms of Employment The High School Cook position is a school-year position. Work schedule, salary, benefits, and other terms of employment are established by the Tripoli Community School District Board of Education and applicable district policies and agreements. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background checks, food-safety requirements, and all required district trainings.
