I am looking for someone with experience cooking in a daycare setting. The cook will prepare nutritious snacks and meals for all children at the center, while maintaining a clean environment in the kitchen, pantry and cafeteria area. All health and safety requirements must be met. One year experience cooking for a daycare required to set a time for an interview. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Creating menus that follow DHS and CACFP requirements
- Keeping inventory of supplies (plates, bowls, food, etc.)
- Bringing snacks and lunch and all necessary items to the classrooms at their scheduled times
- Collecting snack and lunch dishes from classrooms when they are finished
- Loading and unloading dishwashers as needed
- Cleaning refrigerators and freezers
- Marking refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily
- Labeling and dating food in the refrigerator and pantry
- Covering breaks as needed
- Putting away food order and taking boxes to the dumpster
- Sweeping and mopping kitchen daily
- Taking garbage out at the end of shift
- Documenting changes or substitutions to meals
- Adjusting recipes to number of children present each day
- Completing and maintaining all DHS required trainings
- Attending monthly staff meetings
