Job Summary:
As a Prep Cook / Bistro Cook at Lula Wine Bar, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen, assisting in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes that complement our curated wine selections. Your attention to detail and culinary skills will help maintain our commitment to exceptional food and service, ensuring a delightful dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and measuring, to ensure that all dishes are ready for cooking.
Cooking Duties:
Cook and assemble menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
Menu Knowledge:
Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation styles, to assist in guest inquiries and special requests.
Inventory Management:
Help monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure the freshness of ingredients.
Cleanliness and Organization:
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff, including the Head Chef, to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service during peak hours.
Equipment Maintenance:
Assist in the care and maintenance of kitchen equipment, ensuring it is clean and in good working order. Adherence to
Safety Standards:
Follow all safety and food handling procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a prep cook or cook in a restaurant or kitchen setting is preferred. Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to follow recipes and adhere to food safety guidelines. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Full-time and part-time positions available.
