Job Description

The Line Cook / Prep Cook at SimplySoul is responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking menu items, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen while supporting the overall flow of food service. This role combines food preparation and line cooking duties to ensure meals are prepared efficiently, consistently, and according to SimplySoul's quality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, works well in a fast-paced environment, follows recipes and food safety procedures, and is a strong team player who takes pride in delivering great food to every guest.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Prepare and portion ingredients for daily service, including chopping vegetables, preparing meats, mixing sauces, and assembling recipe components. Cook and assemble menu items according to SimplySoul recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines. Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and stovetops safely and efficiently. Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to support smooth and efficient service. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation throughout the shift. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines. Monitor food quality and freshness, reporting any issues to kitchen leadership. Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries according to food safety standards. Label, date, and rotate ingredients using FIFO (first in, first out) practices. Restock prep stations and the cook line as needed during service. Clean kitchen equipment, surfaces, floors, and prep areas at the end of shifts or as assigned. Work closely with other kitchen staff to maintain an efficient workflow and positive team environment. Assist with additional kitchen tasks or duties as assigned by management.
