The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, communicative, and comfortable working with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced kitchen. This position requires proven hot-line and prep experience , strong time-management and task-prioritization skills, and a solid understanding of food safety and kitchen operations. Active ServSafe certification is required. Responsibilities Positively contribute to daily food service and kitchen operations. Prepare and execute menu items accurately, efficiently, and consistently. Work confidently across hot and cold line stations. Complete daily prep, dish, opening/closing, and routine cleaning responsibilities as needed. Read, understand, and accurately execute recipes and prep procedures. Properly store, label, date, rotate, and maintain food products at required temperatures. Follow all state, federal, and local food-handling and sanitation requirements. Maintain compliance with applicable Health Department and Fire Department regulations. Complete and maintain daily prep sheets, waste/yield sheets, equipment temperature logs, and food temperature logs. Monitor ingredient and product levels and communicate prep or ordering needs before they impact service. Anticipate and identify inventory or prep shortages and take appropriate action. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation and kitchen throughout each shift. Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams during service. Maintain professionalism, urgency, and positive team morale during high-volume periods. Requirements Minimum 2 years of professional kitchen experience , including proven experience working a hot and/or cold line. Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen or make-line environment is required. Strong understanding of line composition, station setup, prep, and service execution. Working knowledge of various cooking methods, techniques, and proper knife skills. Strong understanding of and strict adherence to food-safety and sanitation practices. Ability to read and accurately execute recipes. Strong organization, time-management, and task-prioritization skills. Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure under pressure. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work with a sense of urgency. Active ServSafe certification required. Must have open availability Tuesday-Sunday between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM. This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week.
