The Cook will be preparing meals and snacks for our Residents. Other duties include delivering food to residents, serving and preparing snacks, and taking stock of kitchen supplies and food. Job Duties:
Adhere to all sanitary regulations governing the handling, preparation & serving of food. Supervise staff when dietary management is not in facility. Communicate well with Dietary Manager Prepare & cook foods according to standardized recipes in the correct amount needed. Prepare main entree, vegetable and required meat. Be efficient in operating cooking equipment. Report need for equipment repair to dietary management. Remain current in food preparation, modified diets, sanitation & meal service. Obtain food supplies for next meal. Clean work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers. Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food and supplies, as necessary. Ensure all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies. Wash and clean utensils/dishes. Sweep and mop floors as directed. Keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, garbage, etc. Qualifications Food Handlers certificate / Food Sanitation License preferred - Not required Prior cooking experience in an Assisted Living or Long-Term Care Environment in the Food Service/Dietary areas preferred.
