As we welcome several leagues from a neighboring facility and expand our operating hours, we are looking for an experienced, dependable line cook to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, follows food-safety standards without exception, and can work confidently with minimal supervision. Position Details Starting schedule of approximately 25-30 hours per week Opportunity for additional hours during our busy bowling season, October through April Primarily evening and weekend shifts Closed on major holidays, including Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Our busiest times are evenings and weekends. Consistent availability during those times is an essential requirement of this position. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portions, and quality standards Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen throughout each shift Work efficiently and remain composed during high-volume service periods Complete food-preparation duties, including chopping, portioning, counting, and weighing ingredients Monitor inventory and communicate product needs before supplies run out Stay productive and complete assigned responsibilities without constant direction Work cooperatively with other kitchen and bowling-center employees Consistently provide quality food our guests can count on Required Qualifications Two or more years of recent line-cook experience Current Illinois Food Handler training certificate Ability to obtain an Illinois Certified Food Protection Manager certification Working knowledge of basic food-safety and sanitation requirements Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods Reliable transportation A strong record of attendance and punctuality Consistent evening and weekend availability Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Understands that dependable attendance is essential to the entire team Takes personal responsibility for following food-safety requirements Arrives on time and ready to work each scheduled shift Produces quality food consistently Notices what needs to be done and takes initiative Remains calm and efficient during busy service periods Communicates clearly and works well with others Wants to grow with a busy, locally owned business If you have solid line-cook experience, take food safety seriously, and can reliably work evenings and weekends, we would like to hear from you.
