Part-Time Cook High Point Residence Peoria Peoria, IL Schedule:
Primarily daytime hours with occasional evenings as needed. Every other weekend availability is required. About the Role High Point Residence Peoria is seeking a dependable, experienced, and compassionate Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that meet residents' dietary needs while creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. Working alongside our dietary team, you will help ensure meals are prepared according to approved menus, recipes, and food safety standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and therapeutic dietary requirements. Ensure meals are served with consistency, quality, and proper portion control. Assist with food preparation for daily meals, special events, and holiday celebrations. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards. Properly store, label, and rotate food to ensure freshness and regulatory compliance. Monitor kitchen inventory and assist with ordering food and supplies. Follow all infection control, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Work collaboratively with dietary team members to provide an exceptional dining experience for residents. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the dietary department. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, assisted living, or long-term care setting. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience preparing meals for seniors or individuals with specialized dietary needs. Experience with menu planning and inventory management. ServSafe Certification (preferred). Skills & Abilities Excellent cooking skills with strong attention to detail. Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen. Strong organizational and time management skills. Dependable, team-oriented, and committed to providing outstanding service.
