This role is essential in delivering high-quality food service while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and preparation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, experience in dietary services, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Assist in menu planning, ensuring a variety of nutritious options are available. Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation throughout all food handling processes. Collaborate with the dietary department to meet the specific needs of residents or guests. Utilize fine dining techniques to enhance the presentation and quality of meals served. Perform catering duties for special events as needed, ensuring exceptional service delivery. Demonstrate excellent knife skills and cooking techniques while preparing ingredients for meal preparation. Ensure proper storage and handling of food items to minimize waste and maintain quality. Provide support in training new kitchen staff on food preparation and safety protocols. Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Background in fine dining or restaurant settings is advantageous. Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and catering services is essential. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry. Proven experience in kitchen operations, including meal preparation and serving techniques.
