In this role, you will prepare and serve meals according to specific dietary needs, ensuring the highest quality food and sanitation standards. You'll also be part of a team that strives to brighten our residents' day through delicious, well-prepared meals.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve food in accordance with prescribed diets and physician orders. Follow menus as ordered, ensuring appropriate substitutions are made and documented. Honor special meal requests from residents within the prescribed dietary guidelines. Ensure food is prepared and served in a safe, sanitary manner while maintaining the highest quality standards. Follow cleaning schedules and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and food prep areas. Properly cover, date, and label all leftovers. Notify the Dietary Manager of any food, supply, or equipment needs. Report any malfunctioning equipment or unsafe working conditions immediately to the Dietary Manager. Collaborate with Diet Aides and Dishwashers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and assist where needed. Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all Local, State, and Federal regulations related to food service in long-term care. Attend in-service meetings and other training sessions as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes, diet orders, and work assignments. Effective communication skills in English, with the ability to interact tactfully with residents, coworkers, families, and visitors. General knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to long-term care. Ability to work overtime when necessary. High school diploma or GED; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. At least one year of experience as a cook in an institutional or similar setting is preferred.

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
