Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will assist in preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Your enthusiasm for food preparation and commitment to safety standards will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food industry operations, culinary techniques, and team collaboration. Duties Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring ingredients according to recipes and safety guidelines Follow established menu plans and recipe adherence to ensure consistency and quality in meal presentation Operate various kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, and fryers safely and efficiently Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools through regular cleaning and sanitation practices Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients for chefs or cooks, including portioning and garnishing dishes Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal assembly and ensure timely service delivery Adhere to food safety management protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control standards Experience Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable Demonstrated food preparation and cooking experience within a restaurant or catering environment Knowledge of kitchen safety standards in production environments Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, and other food industry tools Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for efficient ingredient prep Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling procedures Effective communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and ensure smooth workflow We are looking for candidates who already have the Food Handling Training Certificate. $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
