Job Description
Job Overview As a correctional cook, you prepare and serve meals to inmates in the kitchen of a correctional facility. Your responsibilities include cooking meals using commercial culinary equipment, supervising inmate workers that assist with food preparation, and fulfilling basic cleaning and sanitation duties. Duties Prepare, cook, and assemble a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications Ensure all food is handled safely, maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation standards at all times Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment throughout your shift Follow food safety protocols diligently, including proper storage, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention Skills Familiar with cooking methods and the equipment used in preparing and serving food Understand sanitation methods for cleaning Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling Being dependable and arriving on time •We are an equal opportunity employer•
