Job Description

Food Program Specific Responsibilities:
Ensure meals and Cafe activities are nutritious and promote healthy habits at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to club members. Contribute to the implementation of our food program as outline by the State Department standards by organizing and implementing meal plans with the approval and direction for the Food Program Director and Unit Director. Ensure compliance of Food Program Guidelines at all times. Manage Cafe and food program, ensuring a safe, clean, and productive work environment. Maintain an inventory of all food, equipment and supplies, including keeping track of all food in stock, and submitting food orders as needed.
Food Service Responsibilities:
  • Ensure menu always meets serving requirements
  • Keep accurate documentation of all meal service and other required forms.
  • Serve meals during approved times
  • Ensure proper temperatures of food at time of service.
  • Ensure proper sanitation practices are followed.
  • Maintain clean tables between serving groups.
Other Non-Food Responsibilities:
Participating in special events, conferences, off-site club observations, and/or programs as directed by Unit Director. Participate in Relationship Building and Youth Development of Club Members, including but not limited to: Praising members for appropriate behavior, interacting with members by providing motivation and encouragement, using positive messages to discipline children, giving members positive choices, being consistent with enforcing rules, and implementing a practice of using manners in the cafe and other club areas. Hours differ at certain times of the year: Summer hours: Mon-Fri 8:45-2:45
