Job Description

Forty Barrels Coffee + Kitchen in Osage City, Kansas, is seeking a skilled, dependable, and motivated Cook to help lead daily kitchen operations in our new coffeehouse and restaurant. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality food, works well under pressure, and enjoys being part of a creative and community-focused team. This position is ideal for someone with strong cooking experience who can lead by example, maintain consistency, and help build an outstanding guest experience. Position Responsibilities Prepare and execute menu items consistently and efficiently Help run kitchen operations during shifts and help coordinate workflow Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and safety Help develop seasonal features and menu improvements Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment Work collaboratively with others in the kitchen, the front of house and management Qualifications Previous experience in a commercial kitchen required Strong cooking skills and attention to detail Baking experience Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated Positive attitude and strong communication skills Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure Availability for evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays Food handler certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Flexible scheduling Creative and supportive work environment Opportunity to help shape a growing food program Employee discounts A chance to be part of a unique historic downtown destination
