Full Time, Non-Exempt/Hourly Northlake Behavioral Health System is looking for a dependable, team-oriented Cook to join our Dietary Team. This position prepares meals for individuals receiving care in our inpatient behavioral health facility and residential programs. Our Dietary Team is an important part of the care delivery team. The meals we prepare support the health, comfort, and daily routine of the people we serve. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, cares about the details, and understands that what happens in the kitchen matters. What You'll Do Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to recipes, diet orders, and food safety standards. Prepare meals for special diets and food allergies. Ensure meals are properly portioned, attractive, on time, and served at the correct temperature. Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen. Complete required food temperature and sanitation logs. Properly store, label, date, and rotate food. Assist with meal delivery to hospital and residential programs. Monitor inventory and assist with receiving deliveries. Work closely with dietary staff and other members of the care team to ensure meals are prepared and delivered safely and efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Previous cooking experience in a commercial, healthcare, institutional, or restaurant kitchen preferred. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to follow recipes and dietary instructions accurately. Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks. Dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to work as part of a team. High school diploma or GED preferred.
