Job Description

TESCO, Inc. is looking for a nursing cook to join our team in Falmouth, MA. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and reliable. Shift
- 10 am to 7:30 pm (24 to 32 hours/week) Pay
- $21•$26/hour Purpose of Position Prepare high-quality food in accordance with federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines, as well as established facility policies, ensuring consistent excellence in food service for all patients and residents.
Key Responsibilities Kitchen Leadership & Operations:
Assume responsibility for all kitchen functions in the absence of the Food Service Director or Executive Chef. Assist in establishing production lines and lead the team in implementing new culinary methods.Meal Preparation & Special Diets:
Review menus to forecast food requirements. Prepare and serve meals following standardized recipes, portion control procedures, therapeutic diet plans, and texture modifications in a timely manner.Interdepartmental Collaboration:
Work closely with the facility dietitian and healthcare staff to coordinate meal services and implement correct patient dietary requirements.Sanitation & Safety:
Maintain work areas, equipment, and supplies in a safe, orderly, and sanitary condition. Perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with food safety and waste disposal regulations.Compliance & Patient Rights:
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all resident/patient care information (including Protected Health Information) and adhere to Patient & Resident Rights. Promptly report any suspected HIPAA violations or unauthorized disclosures.General Duties:
Display patience, tact, and enthusiasm when interacting with residents at varying cognitive levels. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) years of food service experience in a supervisory capacity within a healthcare setting (hospital or nursing facility) preferred, or experience as a restaurant chef.Certifications:
ServSafe Certification and Allergen Certification required (or ability to obtain within six [6] months of hire).Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. Demonstrated leadership ability and willingness to collaborate harmoniously with kitchen staff, residents, family members, visitors, and regulatory inspectors.Pay:
$21.00- $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 24.0
