Aug 26, 2026 Job Description Assist in the preparation of breakfast and lunch meals according to USDA guidelines, standard recipes, and instructions provided by the Food Service Director of Operations. Rotate through a variety of duties on a scheduled basis, including food preparation, operating the POS (Point of Sale) system, and food service. Collaborate with the First Cook to complete assigned kitchen tasks efficiently and effectively. Serve as acting First Cook in their absence, assuming leadership responsibilities as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including production records and temperature logs. Participate in the daily cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen equipment and work areas. Adhere to safe food handling practices and participate in ongoing food safety training. Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities. Work cooperatively with building staff, including the Principal, teachers, and custodians, to support smooth cafeteria operations. Foster a respectful, team-oriented working environment within the kitchen. Perform additional duties as assigned by the First Cook or Food Service Director of Operations.
