We offer a more personal environment than a large nursing home or institutional facility. Our kitchen serves home-style meals to a small group of residents who dine together each day. We are looking for dependable cooks who take pride in preparing good food and being part of a close-knit community. Position Overview We are hiring both Full-Time and Part-Time Cooks. This is a hands-on cooking position with a consistent schedule and rotating weekend coverage. You will prepare and serve meals, complete food preparation, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and help create an enjoyable dining experience for our residents. Responsibilities Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to established menus and recipes Complete daily food preparation and portioning Follow resident dietary needs and meal modifications Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures Assist with receiving and properly storing food and supplies Help with dishes and kitchen cleanup as needed Work cooperatively with kitchen staff and the resident care team Interact with residents in a friendly and respectful manner Qualifications Previous cooking or food-service experience preferred Comfortable preparing meals independently Dependable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule Good organization and time-management skills Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation Experience in senior living, healthcare, or institutional food service is helpful but not required ServSafe certification is a plus Schedule Full-Time and Part-Time positions are available. Weekend availability is required on a rotating basis. Sarawood operates 365 days a year, so some holiday availability is also required. Why Sarawood?
