Note:
The compensation range noted above represents the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries are determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Holyoke Medical Center is a proud 219-bed community hospital that has served the healthcare needs of the pioneer valley for over 125 years. We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient-centered care. Our Food Service team is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join our team. The Prep Cook will prepare raw and cooked foods for cooks, short order cooks, and bakers as needed for daily service. The prep cook is responsible for food production in the kitchen operations; this position plays an integral role in managing the food production operations while ensuring client and customer service.
Applicants must have:
A passion for caring about a community through quality work in a stand-alone hospital. A drive for learning new practices to be able to adapt to our rapidly changing department. A willingness to offer new ideas to the team to help with our culture of continuous improvement. The ability to keep our internal clients informed of what you are doing and how long tasks will take.
A TEAMWORK MENTALITY REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; six months of experience in either a volume institutional or military cooking environment or an associate's degree from a culinary arts school
