We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our culinary team at Port Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, a state-of-the-art long-term care facility in Newburyport, Massachusetts. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality meals to our residents, while ensuring a clean and safe food preparation environment. Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, cook, and serve a variety of meals to our residents Clean and maintain the kitchen and dining areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment Coordinate with our Dietitian to ensure that meals meet the dietary needs of our residents Work collaboratively with the dietary department to provide exceptional customer service Maintain accurate records of food preparation and meal service Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in a nursing home, hospital, or school kitchen setting preferred Ability to work every other weekend Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods Certification in Food Safety and Handling, or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of employment
