- Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established menus, recipes, and standards
- Complete daily food preparation for current and upcoming meal service
- Prepare meals while following applicable dietary requirements and resident needs
- Assist with special events, functions, and catered events
- Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Complete assigned opening and closing responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area
- Monitor food and supply levels and communicate inventory needs to the Chef
- Work collaboratively with the Chef, Sous Chef, Culinary Director, and other members of the dining team
- Help ensure meals are prepared and served safely, consistently, and on time
- Perform other culinary duties as needed to support dining operations
- What We\'re Looking For
- At least two years of professional cooking experience preferred
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, institutional dining, or high-volume food service is a plus
- General knowledge of special and therapeutic diets is helpful
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes, menus, instructions, and established procedures
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Dependable, organized, and able to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
- A professional and respectful approach when interacting with residents, guests, and coworkers Physical & Work Requirements This position requires regular standing and walking throughout the shift and the ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and safely lift or move up to 50 pounds.
